ACCREDITATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

AMAR Home Is a Licensed, Certified, and Independently Verified Rehab Center in Bangladesh

When a family is considering placing a loved one in a residential treatment center, the first question they should ask is whether the center is legally authorized to operate and independently verified to deliver safe care.

Many rehab centers in Bangladesh display logos and make claims. Very few can show the actual documents behind those claims.

This page exists to give you exactly that. Every credential AMAR Home holds is listed here with the issuing body, what it covers, and what it means for your family in plain language.

Why Does Accreditation Matter When Choosing a Rehab Center?

Accreditation from a recognized authority means an independent body has audited the center’s operations, staffing, clinical processes, and safety standards and confirmed they meet a defined benchmark. For addiction treatment specifically, it protects patients from underqualified staff, unsafe detox conditions, and facilities that operate without any accountability to an external standard. In Bangladesh, the minimum legal requirement for any rehab center is a license from the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

A DNC license is the legal floor, not the ceiling. AMAR Home holds the DNC license and goes beyond it with international quality certification and professional membership.

Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) License

Issuing Authority: Department of Narcotics Control (DNC), Government of Bangladesh Ministry of Home Affairs, People’s Republic of Bangladesh

The DNC is the principal government body responsible for narcotics control in Bangladesh, established in January 1990 under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Every private addiction treatment and rehabilitation center operating legally in Bangladesh must hold a current DNC license.

Obtaining and maintaining this license requires the center to meet regulatory standards set by the government for:

Minimum clinical staffing requirements (qualified medical officer on-site)

Acceptable physical facility standards (space, sanitation, safety)

Patient record keeping and reporting obligations

Compliance with the Narcotics Control Act of Bangladesh

Periodic inspection and license renewal

AMAR HOME LIFESTYLE

A typical day at AMAR Home is structured from morning to evening. Structure is not a restriction. In addiction recovery, structure is the treatment.

Here is what a patient’s day looks like in our Long-Term Program:

Morning

Physical activity (football or swimming), followed by breakfast

Forenoon

Individual or group therapy session (CBT, DBT, or Motivational Interviewing)

Midday

Lunch, prayer time, rest

Afternoon

12-Step Facilitation group meeting or Life Management Program session

Evening

Meditation or yoga, dinner, Brotherhood Program meeting

Night

Reflection time, evening prayer, lights out with medical staff on duty

Plan Your Wellness Retreat

Nutrition is part of the clinical program, not just a meal service. Our Dopamine Diet approach focuses on foods that support brain chemistry recovery during and after detox, when the brain’s reward system is rebuilding itself.

The AMAR Home community extends beyond the residential stay. Our Brotherhood Program connects patients with alumni who have completed treatment and rebuilt their lives. Knowing that the person sitting next to you in a group session came through the same thing and is now running a business or back in university matters in ways that clinical therapy alone cannot replicate.

OUR TREATMENT PROGRAMMES

We offer two residential programs and one outpatient service. The right choice depends on the severity of the addiction, the patient’s personal situation, and whether the individual is coming voluntarily or through family intervention.

Legendary Wellness Sanctuary Proram

Long-Term Recovery Program

This is our primary program. It runs approximately four months from admission to the end of structured aftercare.

The stages are:

1. Medically Supervised Detox (15 days)

Withdrawal managed by our medical officer and psychiatrist

2. Residential Therapy (2 months 15 days)

CBT, DBT, MI, 12-Step Facilitation, Life Management Program, BioPsychosocial Model

3. Intense Meditation (10 days)

Spiritual grounding and mind stabilization before discharge

4. Structured Aftercare (2 months)

Daily online meetings, Brotherhood Program, family involvement

5. Volunteer Phase (2 months, optional)

Some graduates choose to contribute to the community as peer supporters

The Long-Term Program costs 40,000 to 60,000 BDT per month, with all core services included.

Intensive Program

A 17-day voluntary residential program based on 12-Step Facilitation. This program accepts patients who come forward on their own initiative and are in the earlier stages of dependency. The total cost is 150,000 BDT for the full 17 days.

The key distinction: only voluntary admissions are accepted for this program. It is not suitable for patients who are resistant to treatment.

Dope Test

Confidential drug screening available without residential admission. Used by employers, families, and individuals who need a verified result handled with full discretion.

NUTRITION AND FOOD AT AMAR HOME

Substance addiction does serious physical damage. Yaba and heroin in particular cause severe nutritional depletion, weight loss, and disrupted sleep chemistry. Food is not a secondary consideration in recovery. It is part of the treatment.

We prepare three meals a day on-site, using fresh ingredients and a nutrition plan aligned with what the body needs during and after detox.

We call our approach the Dopamine Diet, because the focus is on meals that support dopamine system recovery, which addiction disrupts significantly. Patients in early recovery have a brain that has been conditioned to expect chemical rewards. Proper nutrition helps stabilize mood, reduce cravings, and rebuild physical health during a period when the body is doing an enormous amount of repair work.

No processed food shortcuts. No skipped meals. Food is part of the daily structure, and the daily structure is the treatment.

A PLACE WHERE FAMILIES CAN TRUST WE WILL TAKE CARE OF THEIR PERSON

The most common question we get from families is not about the treatment. It is: “Will he be safe there?”

We understand why. Handing someone you love over to a residential facility, particularly for a problem the family has been managing in silence, takes significant trust.

Here is what we can tell you directly.

Our center at House 46, Road 2, Sector 9, Uttara operates 24 hours a day. A resident medical officer and paramedic staff are present overnight. The facility is secure. Patients cannot walk out unassisted during the residential phase.

We contact families through the designated case manager assigned at admission. One contact point. No confusion about who to call if you have a question.

Phone contact between patients and family is not permitted in the first 45 days. This is a clinical decision, not an administrative one. The first 45 days are the most psychologically fragile phase of treatment. Outside contact during this window statistically increases dropout. We keep this boundary because it protects your person’s recovery.

From day 45, visits are permitted. Monthly family counseling sessions begin once the patient enters the residential therapy phase.

A Place To Feel At Home

Start with a conversation. Our admission coordinator will listen to your specific situation, answer your questions honestly, and tell you plainly whether AMAR Home is the right fit.

If it is, we will walk you through every step of the admission process. If it is not, we will tell you that too and point you toward what might be better suited.
