ACCREDITATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

AMAR HOME IS A LICENSED, CERTIFIED, AND INDEPENDENTLY VERIFIED REHAB CENTER IN BANGLADESH

When a family is considering placing a loved one in a residential treatment center, the first question they should ask is whether the center is legally authorized to operate and independently verified to deliver safe care.

Many rehab centers in Bangladesh display logos and make claims. Very few can show the actual documents behind those claims.

This page exists to give you exactly that. Every credential AMAR Home holds is listed here with the issuing body, what it covers, and what it means for your family in plain language.

WHY DOES ACCREDITATION MATTER WHEN CHOOSING A REHAB CENTER?

Accreditation from a recognized authority means an independent body has audited the center’s operations, staffing, clinical processes, and safety standards and confirmed they meet a defined benchmark. For addiction treatment specifically, it protects patients from underqualified staff, unsafe detox conditions, and facilities that operate without any accountability to an external standard. In Bangladesh, the minimum legal requirement for any rehab center is a license from the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

A DNC license is the legal floor, not the ceiling. AMAR Home holds the DNC license and goes beyond it with international quality certification and professional membership.

DEPARTMENT OF NARCOTICS CONTROL (DNC) LICENSE

Issuing Authority: Department of Narcotics Control (DNC), Government of Bangladesh Ministry of Home Affairs, People’s Republic of Bangladesh

What This License Covers

The DNC is the principal government body responsible for narcotics control in Bangladesh, established in January 1990 under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Every private addiction treatment and rehabilitation center operating legally in Bangladesh must hold a current DNC license.

Obtaining and maintaining this license requires the center to meet regulatory standards set by the government for:

Minimum clinical staffing requirements (qualified medical officer on-site)

Acceptable physical facility standards (space, sanitation, safety)

Patient record keeping and reporting obligations

Compliance with the Narcotics Control Act of Bangladesh

Periodic inspection and license renewal

What This Means for You

A DNC-licensed center can be verified through the government’s own records. If a center cannot show its DNC license number when asked, it is not legally authorized to operate as a drug addiction treatment facility in Bangladesh.

AMAR Home has held an active DNC license since its founding in 2012. The license is renewed following inspection and remains current. The physical license document is displayed at our center and available for families to review during any admission visit.

ISO 9001:2015 QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM CERTIFICATION

Accred Services International Board (Europe) Limited (ASIB)

Certified Scope

Provision of Assessment, Counselling, Guidance, and Treatment Services for Individuals Affected by Substance Use Disorders (SUD)

Certified Address

Standard

ISO 9001:2015, Quality Management System

What ISO 9001:2015 Means

ISO 9001:2015 is the internationally recognized standard for Quality Management Systems, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. It is the most widely adopted quality management standard in the world, applied across industries including healthcare, manufacturing, education, and service organizations.

For a healthcare and treatment facility, achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification means an independent third-party auditor has formally assessed the organization’s:

Patient Assessment and Admission Processes

Are they consistent, documented, and conducted to a defined standard?

Clinical Protocols

Are treatment procedures formalized, followed, and reviewed?

Staff Competency Management

Are staff qualifications verified and training records maintained?

Documentation and Record Keeping

Are patient records, treatment notes, and outcome data managed securely and systematically?

Complaint and Feedback Handling

Is there a formal process for receiving and acting on concerns?

Continual Improvement Systems

Does the organization track performance and actively work to improve it?

The certification is not self-declared. ACS sent an independent auditor to AMAR Home, reviewed our operations against the ISO 9001:2015 standard, and issued the certificate only after confirming compliance. The certificate remains valid only as long as AMAR Home continues to pass regular surveillance audits without prior notice.

What This Means for You

ISO 9001:2015 certification tells you that AMAR Home’s treatment processes are not informal or improvised. They are documented, standardized, audited, and subject to ongoing external review. In a sector where many centers operate with no formal quality framework at all, this distinction matters significantly.

FEDERATION OF THERAPEUTIC COMMUNITIES IN ASIA (FTCA) MEMBERSHIP

Issuing Body: Federation of Therapeutic Communities in Asia (FTCA) Website: ftca.info

What the FTCA Is

The Federation of Therapeutic Communities in Asia (FTCA) is a regional professional association of organizations, communities, and practitioners across Asia who use the Therapeutic Community (TC) approach for addiction treatment. The TC model is one of the most extensively studied and validated long-term residential treatment approaches in the world for substance use disorders.

FTCA membership is not simply a paid subscription. Member organizations are expected to practice the TC approach with fidelity to its evidence-based principles, which include:

Community as a method of treatment (structured peer support as a clinical tool)

Hierarchy and responsibility within the community structure

Confrontation and support as complementary therapeutic forces

Behavioral and emotional learning through daily community life

Aftercare and reintegration planning as core, not optional

Why AMAR Home Uses the TC Approach

The Therapeutic Community model sits at the foundation of our Long-Term Recovery Program. Our Brotherhood Program, our group sessions, our structured daily routine, and our volunteer phase for program graduates are all expressions of the TC approach adapted for our patient population in Uttara, Dhaka.

The FTCA connection gives AMAR Home access to the broader community of TC practitioners across Asia, current research and methodology updates, and a standard of practice accountability beyond what a local license alone provides.

What This Means for You

It means AMAR Home’s treatment philosophy is not invented in isolation. It is grounded in an internationally recognized approach and connected to a professional community of peers who hold each other accountable to practicing it correctly.

Intensive Program

A 17-day voluntary residential program based on 12-Step Facilitation. This program accepts patients who come forward on their own initiative and are in the earlier stages of dependency. The total cost is 150,000 BDT for the full 17 days.

The key distinction: only voluntary admissions are accepted for this program. It is not suitable for patients who are resistant to treatment.

WHAT AMAR HOME'S THREE CREDENTIALS MEAN TOGETHER

Most rehab centers in Bangladesh hold only a DNC license. That is the legal minimum. It confirms the center is authorized to operate. It does not confirm treatment quality, staff competency, or clinical process standards.

AMAR Home holds three distinct credentials that work at three different levels:

Credential

Issued By

What It Confirms

DNC License

Government of Bangladesh

Legal authorization to operate as an addiction treatment center

ISO 9001:2015

ASSIST Certification Services (ACS) / ASIB

Quality management systems, clinical processes, documentation standards

FTCA Membership

Federation of Therapeutic Communities in Asia

Therapeutic Community treatment model, professional practice standards

Together they answer the three questions every family should ask:

1. Is this center legally allowed to operate? Yes. DNC license.

2. Are its processes organized, documented, and independently reviewed? Yes. ISO 9001:2015.

3. Is its treatment approach grounded in recognized clinical methodology? Yes. FTCA and the TC model.

HOW TO VERIFY AMAR HOME'S CREDENTIALS INDEPENDENTLY

You should not have to take any center’s word for its certifications. Here is how to verify each credential independently.

Verifying the DNC License

The DNC license is a physical government document. When you visit AMAR Home before admission, ask to see the original license. It will show the license number, the issuing authority, and the validity date. You can also contact the Department of Narcotics Control's Dhaka Divisional Office directly to confirm a center's registration status.

Verifying the ISO 9001:2015 Certificate

The ISO certificate issued by ASSIST Certification Services (ACS) shows the certificate number, the certified scope, the certified address, and the expiry and renewal dates. Visit acsglobal.xyz or contact ACS directly at operation@acsglobal.xyz to verify the certificate. Ask for the certificate number when you visit our center.

Verifying FTCA Membership

Visit ftca.info to confirm AMAR Home's membership status in the Federation of Therapeutic Communities in Asia.

In Person

All original credential documents are displayed at our center at House 46, Road 2, Sector 9, Uttara, Dhaka-1230. Families are welcome to review them during any visit before making an admission decision.

WHAT AMAR HOME IS WORKING TOWARD NEXT

Our current credentials are not the finish line. We are actively working on:

Pursuing Additional International Professional Certifications

For individual clinical staff, including certified addiction counselor (CAC) credentials for our counseling team

Expanding Our Follow-Up Data Documentation

To produce a published outcome report based on our two-year patient follow-up protocol

Strengthening Our Partnership Network

With recognized medical institutions in Dhaka for seamless specialist referral during treatment

We publish this because accountability to improvement is part of what the ISO 9001:2015 standard requires. It is also simply the right thing to do in a field where families are placing enormous trust in a center’s hands.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT REHAB CENTER ACCREDITATION IN BANGLADESH

Yes. AMAR Home holds an active license from the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC), Government of Bangladesh, Ministry of Home Affairs. The DNC is the government body responsible for authorizing and regulating addiction treatment centers in Bangladesh. AMAR Home has been DNC licensed since founding in 2012.

ISO 9001:2015 certification means an independent third-party auditor has formally verified that the organization’s quality management system meets the international standard. For a rehab center, this covers patient assessment processes, clinical protocols, staff competency records, documentation practices, and continual improvement systems. The certificate is only maintained if the center continues to pass regular unannounced surveillance audits.

Ask to see the original DNC license document on your visit. A legitimate center will show it without hesitation. The license includes the license number and validity date. You can also contact the DNC Dhaka Divisional Office (dnc.dhakadiv.gov.bd) to confirm a center’s registration. If a center refuses to show its license or cannot provide a license number, do not admit a family member there.

The Therapeutic Community (TC) is a long-term residential treatment approach in which the community itself, meaning the structured group of patients and staff, acts as the primary agent of change. Peer accountability, structured daily routines, group therapy, and progressive responsibility within the community are the core tools. AMAR Home is a member of the Federation of Therapeutic Communities in Asia (FTCA), which promotes and maintains standards for this approach across the region.

We cannot claim exclusivity on this. What we can confirm is that ISO 9001:2015 certification for addiction treatment services is uncommon among rehab centers in Bangladesh. Many centers display the ISO logo without holding an active, independently audited certificate. AMAR Home’s certification through ASSIST Certification Services (ACS) is independently accredited by ASIB (Europe) and subject to ongoing surveillance audits.

Yes. All original credential documents, including the DNC license and the ISO 9001:2015 certificate, are displayed at the center. Families visiting before making an admission decision are welcome to review them. We actively encourage this. A center that is confident in its credentials does not hide them.
